touching text

If you want to have some good friends, you need to be a good friend.
We’re always waiting for other people to take the first step and call be or be nice to us. Guess what? They’re waiting for us to make the first move. It’s like a bunch of people watching a pizza get cold. All too scared to ask for the first piece. So why not make the first move? Make the first phone call. Be the one to say “I’m sorry” after you get in a fight with a friend.

Therefore confess your sins to each other and pray for each other so that you may be healed. The prayer of a righteous man is powerful and effective. (James 5:16)

There’s always someone else without a friend
… remember that there are tons of other kids who are not having any friends and who are probably feeling lonely just like you.

You always have one important friend
Make sure you add one name in capital letters to your list of friends. No, he’s not flesh and blood, waiting at your locker. But that’s part of what’s so cool about him. Jesus is a friend who’s with you all the time. Jesus is right there with you no matter what happens.

A man with many companions may come to ruin, but there is a friend who sticks closer than a brother. (Proverbs 18:24)

He’s with us as you read this. And he’ll be with you when you put this down. The God of universe is just waiting to spend time with you. Hey, have a blast hanging out Him today!

Believe it or not, this text above has been in our church’s notice board for more than half a decade! It was prepared by Michelle Tan (if you don’t remember her, she’s Ricky’s sister). I was there when she put that up on the notice board. I have to confess that I didn’t bother to read it. Today (surprisingly), I was waiting for my mum to finish her class, I read this. It touched me a lot. It made me think back of the things I did to my friends. Be it good or bad. All these doesn’t matter anymore, for it has passed. From now onwards, I’ll treat my FRIENDS as well as I can. Yew Weng said in the class today that you have a friendship when you talk to that person and communicate. What is a friend without communication? These are not friends. Though I often feel left out, I’m glad that I’ve read that text. For I know that Jesus is always standing beside me when I’m alone. Thanks Lord! Those out there who are feeling lonely, you don’t need to now for Jesus is always there JUST FOR YOU!

This passage meant a lot to me because I did try to “make the first phone call” but they (because I made many first phone calls) didn’t work out. Life still has to go on though the “calls” were in vain. So, let go and carry on! (just like what Kian Aun said to me – “just let go”)

Busy week..

My last post was like a week ago. Whew.. Such a long time. Well, I've been kind of busy with my school stuffs. Nearly don't have time to breathe (quite exaggerating i tink). I didn't go for B.U.G on Sunday due to the pile of homework I didn't finish (and some other reasons). And on the same day, i got a phone call from someone which I considered it as sort of a thing that I wanted at that time. Thanks for calling. It meant a lot to me (just in case you don't know). I don't think this will surprise you. Being the emo type of person, I don't need to write also you'll know. Haha.. Even my best friend noticed it the next morning! Anyway, thank you! I really need that during that period. Thanks alot!!!

On Monday was like usual - school, piano class, homework (heavy ones)

On Tuesday was almost the same - school, choir practice (for the chinese orchestra concert), meeting with Bernice,Shireen and Kar Wai (for the AOG fellowship), homework (essay that I worked on since the first day of school but the teacher still doesn't pass me)

On Wednesday was same - school, tuition, homework, preparation for BK test

On Thursday - school, photo-taking in school, BK test (which I think I didn't do well)

On Friday was super hectic - school, choir practice, tuition, travelling (back to mum's "kampung" which caused me to skip my dinner due to the long time of travelling - nearly vomitted)

On Saturday - went to visit my grandparents' grave, breakfast with relatives, homework, movie (on laptop) with cousins, travelling (back to Ipoh to attend to some family matters)

It's not fun travelling!!! Never like travelling. Especially winding roads! Ewww.. it just make me feel like vomitting. Anyway, it's a good time of reunion though it's short. I missed my eldest aunt who took care of me when I was a baby. I missed her and needed her hug desperately (cause i get her hug every year and i didn't get it this year when i didn't see here during CNY). Hehe.. Love her so muchie!!!

Good outreach!

Our church had an Easter Outreach yesterday night. I would say it’s very successful. There were a lot of non-believers. And the program went on really smoothly. Thanks to the prayers that everyone offered to Him. The people involved really did a great job! The worship part was nice. All voices were sweet and I can feel the singing that people were offering to God. The dance was very nice too. Seeing the girls (Ah Qi, Bernice, Eliza and Shireen) and a boy (Kar Wai) dancing up there, it was really touching. They danced real gracefully. The all male mime was the best I would say (to me). So simple yet the message is there. Then was the solo by our Phoebe. Her cute, little voice.. I believe that it touched many people’s heart. GOOD JOB EVERYONE!!! Keep up the good work! Continue to serve the Lord with all your heart!!!

We won!!!

Yay!!! AMC CHOIR WON!!! Haha.. It was unbelievable!!! Seriously!!! I did not expect this. It was like this, we practiced quite hard I would say but it was not very nice, still can accept though. I didn’t know that we sounded really good when we’re up the stage just now. Finally our hard work has bore its fruit.
Early in the morning, I woke up and was rather nervous, knowing that today is the competition day. After getting ready for school, I headed towards the school. The feeling when I entered the school was not the same as it used to be. I felt as if people’s eyes were fixed on me (maybe because I was holding my baju kurung). Then, I went to the new hall in school to warm up my voice. We practiced a little until 9 am. After that was time to STUDY again. At about 11.30 am, we went to gather in the old hall. As time was approaching to 2 pm, our hearts were pumping super fast! Luckily, Mr Lee (our coach) was there to practice once with us and help us to relax. Guess what we did to relax? Take photograph! With who? Mr Lee!! Not forgetting our teachers as well, Miss Yau and Puan Anne. Time passed by very fast when you are having fun. It was time for us to depart. As the car was arriving the school, I was rather calm. I knew that it’s not a good sign. You know why? I tend to be scared before I perform and calm when I’m performing. Now that I’m calm, means that performing time I’ll be scared. That’s very bad! After settling down to our seat, we waited and waited. We practiced how to go up and down the stage. Then, we waited and waited. Suddenly, the emcee started introducing the judges and stuffs like that. First school was Main Convent. Followed by MGS and us. When I was up there, even my smiles were trembling. Can you imagine that? I knew this would happen when I’m calm before the competition. I knew I’m not the only one trembling up there. Despite of the mixture of tremble and fear, we gave out our very best. I remembered that Mr Lee said that we’re up there to perform, not compete. We’re exhibitors, we’re there to show off. Right Mr Lee? Haha.. We sang out our feelings and sang as though we’re dedicating the song to our loved ones. After leaving the stage, it was like “whew!”. After us was Sam Tet. I wonder why is it Sam Tet the last school every time. Anyway, they sang the same song as us. We thought it would make a vast difference because they were champions for years. They sounded really good. I thought we’re going to loose AGAIN. The long awaited moment came – the results! Main Convent got third. When the emcee was announcing the second place, he created anxiety within us. “Naib johan ialah… SMJK… Sam Tet!!!” We were like screaming so madly!!! We quiet ourselves down when the emcee wanted to announce the first. “Johan ialah SMJK Ave Maria Convent!” Before he even finished, our girls were screaming and jumping all the way, crying, what else? I don’t rather remember because I was over the moon!!! Finally, we won!!! Good job girls!!! Keep up the good work!!! Next week is our next competition, better be prepared to perspire again! To Sam Tet, Main Convent and MGS – Congratulations and good job!!!

It's coming!!!!

Choir competition's coming! It's coming in less than...3 days! Oh my goodness!!! The anxiety is rushing here now. I'm really scared now. Not that i scared that I will loose. Just that... you'll laugh when i said it. It's.. It's.. stagefright! It's real! Don't think that because I'm used to performing in church that I'm free from stagefright. That's not true! Performing in church is far worse than this.

To be frank, as SPM is drawing near, i feel so useless. It's as if that there are so much to study and time is not enough. People (i won't say who is it) tend to take me for granted (i feel it) for the things that are happening. It's very hard to explain the feelings epecially when it's someone rather close to you. I don't know la. Sometimes, I really feel like throwing myself to the wall and just die of bleeding. Is that violent to you? Or cruel? I'm not cursing myself la. Just expressing out my feelings. I don't seem to be helping in any thing that's happening around me. It seems like I'm a nuisance in the things that are happening. SERIOUSLY okay! Just don't know how to explain. From the start till now, I seem negative right? That's what I am now. Negative (only towards myself)!!!!!!

confused girl

Today’s the last day of Children’s Holiday Club. And just now was the Grand Finale! I think it’s quite tiring to help out. Following kids up and down, singing and dancing along with them, taking care of them like a nanny and stuffs like that. These are not my job this year as I wasn’t consistent for the week due to choir practices. So my job is only to sing, dance and jump along with the kids. Though I wasn’t totally in charge of the singspiration part, I kind of enjoyed it. I mean it kept me young (at least for the last five days?). I do and will miss the kids. But there’s something more to this post of course. It was the Grand Finale. I was so called in charge of the first part of the singing part. And I don’t know why I was busy looking for someone whom I hope (or expect) to be among the crowd. Finally I spot that someone (I’ll give that someone a name – A). Okay! I spotted A. And this weird feeling came, I was happy but sad at the same time. But I need to keep on smiling cause all the kids were fixed on me! And the parents as well of course. Okay, in other words, those smiles just now were kind of fake. You know, pretending to be really happy and enjoying, jumping up and down with the kids as well as smiling because of joy. It’s just so fake! After the singing part, it was Uncle Jimmy’s turn to speak. He gave a message on what parents should do with their kids and stuffs. At this moment of time, I was at the back of the hall. Seeing A’s back, I felt that sorrow was gripping me. Gripping really hard. I don’t know how to describe that feeling but it’s not nice. AT ALL!! I mean, A saw me and treated as though I’m invisible. And I was like – “Hello!? I’m over here.” But it’s all.. Haiz. I know I shouldn’t care and carry on with my life. But there’s a very strong voice asking me not to give up! I should continue to make it right. But sometimes, I do get fatigue. After all, I’m a human. Right? I do have my limits. Do we really have to be like this? I’m really sorry. Please tell what can I do? I really feel like crying. But what’s the point? If cry can really help, I’ll cry for hours! But crying is not the solution. =(

Children's Holiday Club

Today’s the first time I’m leading the starting part for the Children’s Holiday Club’s SING AND PLAY STAMPEDE. Kar Wai was doing the job for the past 2 days due to my fully booked days. Thanks Kar Wai. It’s fun to see kids giving response and sing with you. Maybe it’s because I like kids a lot. That’s why I get satisfied easily when it comes to kids (am I?). As my job is done after the 1/2 hour singing, I went round seeing what kids do. When I came to Clarence’s group (Skye), there’s a special kid whom Adrian Goh was looking after. Guess what that boy did? He came and hugged me and call me “mummy”. Do I look like a mummy? Am I that old? Or I give people a feeling of a mummy? Of course I let him hugged. He’s just a kid. No harm right? After that I went for breakfast. After all the games, crafts, breakfast, story-telling and video, the kids came back for the round up time. After singing a couple of songs, the kids were supposed to go home. And that boy came over and took my hand and…kissed my hand!!! I was like so scared (or worried?) that I quickly said “bye bye” to him and asked him to follow his mum home. Cute right? First time of my life I’m given a kiss on the hand by a kid! Woah!

Choir Audition

I'm in!!! I don't know why, I'm not feeling excited. Very weird.. I've no idea what's wrong with me. Seriously! I mean, I should be feeling happy right? But I'm not. I should be excited right? I'm not. I should be worried right? I'm not! What's wrong with me? I've no idea at all. APA DAH JADI NI?? Tak tahu.. If you don't know what I'm talking, actually, I'm saying that I've passed the audition and will be representing my school in the choir competition on 18th of March. Such a weird feeling. Haiz..

Tomorrow's the voting day! Hei girl! It's none of your business. Why are u so excited? Haha.. Weirdo! Holiday's starting tomorrow!!! How nice? But the days will be filled with homework, practices, studying and more homework as well as tuition. Guess the word "holiday" is only holiday for me to stay away from school. Not really also. Cause I still need to go back to school for practices. No choice. Sacrifices had to be made. =)

Goals and priorites??

Today’s EY topic was “A juggling act”. It has something to do with setting our goals and priorities. It was handled by Clarence. Goals?? What does that mean?? To me, it means that something I want to achieve. What’s my goal? To be a teacher? Or a singer? Or a psychologist? I’m not very sure. I like three of them but I can’t be all at the same time. Haha.. That’s a sad thing. Teacher as profession helps me to survive. Singer as a profession is a job that I enjoy. Psychologist is kind of nice cause it can help others, through TALKING which I enjoy a lot. So, which one? To be frank, I’ve no idea. I need to wait for God’s answer. =)

Priorities? My priority at the moment is my studies of course. SPM cannot play play wan. But there’s something that I really, sincerely want to do --- I want to get my life right! In other words, I want to spend more time on my quiet time. I haven’t been doing my quiet time for like months. Maybe on and off, but not often. I would say that I only do it when I need to go for BK class. otherwise, I would not do my quiet time. I want to make this right. I want to spend time with Him. Every time I want to do my quiet time, my brain asks me to close my eyes. I can’t control it but to give in. I don’t hope that will happen again.

Anyway, I’ve learnt a lot today. Thanks Clarence. =) Keep up the good work. I’m sure this will not be your first and the last time. Kian Aun will SURELY find you again. All the best!!!
