touching text

If you want to have some good friends, you need to be a good friend.
We’re always waiting for other people to take the first step and call be or be nice to us. Guess what? They’re waiting for us to make the first move. It’s like a bunch of people watching a pizza get cold. All too scared to ask for the first piece. So why not make the first move? Make the first phone call. Be the one to say “I’m sorry” after you get in a fight with a friend.

Therefore confess your sins to each other and pray for each other so that you may be healed. The prayer of a righteous man is powerful and effective. (James 5:16)

There’s always someone else without a friend
… remember that there are tons of other kids who are not having any friends and who are probably feeling lonely just like you.

You always have one important friend
Make sure you add one name in capital letters to your list of friends. No, he’s not flesh and blood, waiting at your locker. But that’s part of what’s so cool about him. Jesus is a friend who’s with you all the time. Jesus is right there with you no matter what happens.

A man with many companions may come to ruin, but there is a friend who sticks closer than a brother. (Proverbs 18:24)

He’s with us as you read this. And he’ll be with you when you put this down. The God of universe is just waiting to spend time with you. Hey, have a blast hanging out Him today!

Believe it or not, this text above has been in our church’s notice board for more than half a decade! It was prepared by Michelle Tan (if you don’t remember her, she’s Ricky’s sister). I was there when she put that up on the notice board. I have to confess that I didn’t bother to read it. Today (surprisingly), I was waiting for my mum to finish her class, I read this. It touched me a lot. It made me think back of the things I did to my friends. Be it good or bad. All these doesn’t matter anymore, for it has passed. From now onwards, I’ll treat my FRIENDS as well as I can. Yew Weng said in the class today that you have a friendship when you talk to that person and communicate. What is a friend without communication? These are not friends. Though I often feel left out, I’m glad that I’ve read that text. For I know that Jesus is always standing beside me when I’m alone. Thanks Lord! Those out there who are feeling lonely, you don’t need to now for Jesus is always there JUST FOR YOU!

This passage meant a lot to me because I did try to “make the first phone call” but they (because I made many first phone calls) didn’t work out. Life still has to go on though the “calls” were in vain. So, let go and carry on! (just like what Kian Aun said to me – “just let go”)

Busy week..

My last post was like a week ago. Whew.. Such a long time. Well, I've been kind of busy with my school stuffs. Nearly don't have time to breathe (quite exaggerating i tink). I didn't go for B.U.G on Sunday due to the pile of homework I didn't finish (and some other reasons). And on the same day, i got a phone call from someone which I considered it as sort of a thing that I wanted at that time. Thanks for calling. It meant a lot to me (just in case you don't know). I don't think this will surprise you. Being the emo type of person, I don't need to write also you'll know. Haha.. Even my best friend noticed it the next morning! Anyway, thank you! I really need that during that period. Thanks alot!!!

On Monday was like usual - school, piano class, homework (heavy ones)

On Tuesday was almost the same - school, choir practice (for the chinese orchestra concert), meeting with Bernice,Shireen and Kar Wai (for the AOG fellowship), homework (essay that I worked on since the first day of school but the teacher still doesn't pass me)

On Wednesday was same - school, tuition, homework, preparation for BK test

On Thursday - school, photo-taking in school, BK test (which I think I didn't do well)

On Friday was super hectic - school, choir practice, tuition, travelling (back to mum's "kampung" which caused me to skip my dinner due to the long time of travelling - nearly vomitted)

On Saturday - went to visit my grandparents' grave, breakfast with relatives, homework, movie (on laptop) with cousins, travelling (back to Ipoh to attend to some family matters)

It's not fun travelling!!! Never like travelling. Especially winding roads! Ewww.. it just make me feel like vomitting. Anyway, it's a good time of reunion though it's short. I missed my eldest aunt who took care of me when I was a baby. I missed her and needed her hug desperately (cause i get her hug every year and i didn't get it this year when i didn't see here during CNY). Hehe.. Love her so muchie!!!

Good outreach!

Our church had an Easter Outreach yesterday night. I would say it’s very successful. There were a lot of non-believers. And the program went on really smoothly. Thanks to the prayers that everyone offered to Him. The people involved really did a great job! The worship part was nice. All voices were sweet and I can feel the singing that people were offering to God. The dance was very nice too. Seeing the girls (Ah Qi, Bernice, Eliza and Shireen) and a boy (Kar Wai) dancing up there, it was really touching. They danced real gracefully. The all male mime was the best I would say (to me). So simple yet the message is there. Then was the solo by our Phoebe. Her cute, little voice.. I believe that it touched many people’s heart. GOOD JOB EVERYONE!!! Keep up the good work! Continue to serve the Lord with all your heart!!!

We won!!!

Yay!!! AMC CHOIR WON!!! Haha.. It was unbelievable!!! Seriously!!! I did not expect this. It was like this, we practiced quite hard I would say but it was not very nice, still can accept though. I didn’t know that we sounded really good when we’re up the stage just now. Finally our hard work has bore its fruit.
Early in the morning, I woke up and was rather nervous, knowing that today is the competition day. After getting ready for school, I headed towards the school. The feeling when I entered the school was not the same as it used to be. I felt as if people’s eyes were fixed on me (maybe because I was holding my baju kurung). Then, I went to the new hall in school to warm up my voice. We practiced a little until 9 am. After that was time to STUDY again. At about 11.30 am, we went to gather in the old hall. As time was approaching to 2 pm, our hearts were pumping super fast! Luckily, Mr Lee (our coach) was there to practice once with us and help us to relax. Guess what we did to relax? Take photograph! With who? Mr Lee!! Not forgetting our teachers as well, Miss Yau and Puan Anne. Time passed by very fast when you are having fun. It was time for us to depart. As the car was arriving the school, I was rather calm. I knew that it’s not a good sign. You know why? I tend to be scared before I perform and calm when I’m performing. Now that I’m calm, means that performing time I’ll be scared. That’s very bad! After settling down to our seat, we waited and waited. We practiced how to go up and down the stage. Then, we waited and waited. Suddenly, the emcee started introducing the judges and stuffs like that. First school was Main Convent. Followed by MGS and us. When I was up there, even my smiles were trembling. Can you imagine that? I knew this would happen when I’m calm before the competition. I knew I’m not the only one trembling up there. Despite of the mixture of tremble and fear, we gave out our very best. I remembered that Mr Lee said that we’re up there to perform, not compete. We’re exhibitors, we’re there to show off. Right Mr Lee? Haha.. We sang out our feelings and sang as though we’re dedicating the song to our loved ones. After leaving the stage, it was like “whew!”. After us was Sam Tet. I wonder why is it Sam Tet the last school every time. Anyway, they sang the same song as us. We thought it would make a vast difference because they were champions for years. They sounded really good. I thought we’re going to loose AGAIN. The long awaited moment came – the results! Main Convent got third. When the emcee was announcing the second place, he created anxiety within us. “Naib johan ialah… SMJK… Sam Tet!!!” We were like screaming so madly!!! We quiet ourselves down when the emcee wanted to announce the first. “Johan ialah SMJK Ave Maria Convent!” Before he even finished, our girls were screaming and jumping all the way, crying, what else? I don’t rather remember because I was over the moon!!! Finally, we won!!! Good job girls!!! Keep up the good work!!! Next week is our next competition, better be prepared to perspire again! To Sam Tet, Main Convent and MGS – Congratulations and good job!!!
